Add a touch of mid-century charm to your space with this pair of frosted amber glass duck figurines. Crafted by Viking Glass in the 1960s. Fostoria created the original steel and iron casting molds for their "Menagerie" line (which featured the parent duck and baby ducklings). Fostoria pressed these pieces at their factory using their own formulation of amber glass. The Viking Connection: During the mid-to-late 1960s, a period of transition and cooperation among West Virginia and Ohio glass companies led to shared production lines. Viking Glass, widely recognized for its vibrant Mid-Century Modern colors, distributed and marketed versions of these animal families. The distinctive "frosted" or satin glass texture was applied at the factory by acid-etching or sandblasting the smooth, hot-pressed glass after it was removed from the Fostoria molds. Because the exact same molds were utilized by both entities over the course of production, collectors today frequently cross-reference the family as Viking Glass
